Sachin Tendulkar’s Silver Coin Launched

Valuemart Gold & Jewels in association with Diamond India have launched a silver coin with the god of cricket Sachin Tendulkar’s face and number of Tests (200) he had played embossed on it in order to honor the legend of world cricket.

As limited edition, only 15,921 coins each weighing 200 gm silver was launched today in the presence of Sachin Tendulkar.



Sachin Tendulkar Conferred with The Bharat Ratna

Sachin To Be Awarded With Bharat Ratna

The Government of India has decided to confer the highest civilian award, the Bharat Ratna to the master blaster Sachin Tendulkar on the day the legend was to retire from Test Cricket.

“Tendulkar is a living legend who has inspired millions across the globe. During the last 24 years, since the young age of 16 years, Shri Tendulkar has played cricket across the world and won laurels for our country. He has been a true ambassador of India in the world of sports. His achievements in cricket are unparalleled, the records set by him unmatched, and the spirit of sportsmanship displayed by him exemplary. That he has been honoured with several awards is testimony to his extraordinary brilliance as a sportsman,” the PMO statement read.

Earlier at 11.47 am, the god of cricket Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar retired from all forms of international cricket. The master who was in tears had played for India for 24 years before deciding to call it the day.

Sachin has played 200 Test matches, 463 ODIs and 1 T20 scoring 34,357 international runs.

Sachin Tendulkar Retires From International Cricket

The master blaster, Sachin Tendulkar has announced that the will retire from test cricket after 24 years of glorious cricketing careerafter his 200th Test against the West Indies in November.

The cricket god who has already retired from ODI said “All my life, I have had a dream of playing cricket for India. I have been living this dream every day for the last 24 years. It’s hard for me to imagine a life without playing cricket because it’s all I have ever done since I was 11 years old.”

“It’s been a huge honour to have represented my country and played all over the world. I look forward to playing my 200th Test Match on home soil, as I call it a day,” he added.

In the T20 format also, Tendulkar’s called it a day after winning the Champions League T20 final.

Sachin Tendulkar to be Mumbai Indian Captain

Sachin Tendulkar will replace Harbhajan Singh as the coach of Mumbai Indians for the 6th season of Pepsi Indian Premier League 2013.

Announcing this, team management said, the decision was taken after the off spinner decided to step down from the post of captain.

With Sachin as captain, Team Mumbai will be looking to better Bhajji’s record and win this year’s IPL.

Sachin Tendulkar Announces Retirement from ODI

The legend of Indian Cricket, Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar has announced his retirement from ODI’s (one-day cricket) on Sunday. With this, the master blaster’s superb 2 decade old ODI career has ended.

“I have decided to retire from the One-Day format of the game. I feel blessed to have fulfilled the dream of being part of a World Cup wining Indian team. The preparatory process to defend the World Cup in 2015 should begin early and in right earnest,” Sachin said in a statement released by the BCCI today.

Sachin Tendulkar undoubtedly the best batsman in modern cricket is the highest run getter in ODI as he scored 18,426 runs in 463 ODI’s at an average of 44.83 which include the only double hundred in ODI and 49 centuries in this format.

Sachin Tendulkar to be the First Sportstar to be Rajya Sabha Member

The Indian legend cricketer Sachin Tendulkar has added one more feather to his cap as he is all set to be a parliamentarian after the Indian government nominated him to the Rajya Sabha.

His nomination was approved by President of India Mrs Pratibha Patil after Prime Minister nominated the master blaster for the post. Sachin who turned 39 on April 24, 2012 is the first sportsman to be nominated to Rajya Sabha.
