The master today created a world record with the sensational batting performance. He became the first batsmen to score a double hundred in one day international cricket. In a match against South Africa in Gwalior, the master had stepped the peddle right from the first ball. He was at his destructive best today and shadowed Saeed Anwar’s record of highest runs [ 194 runs against India in 1997] and Charles Coventry of Zimbabwe (194 not out against Bangladesh in 1999).
The batting maestro completed his 46th ODI century. In International cricket it was his 93rd century[ tests+ ODI]. Today India won the toss and had no hesitation to bat first. Sachin and Sehwag opened the innings and despite Sehwag’s earlier wicket, master blaster was not deterred.
India, where cricket is a religion and Sachin is the God, can never forget this day. Whole country was praying for Sachin and the prayers were listened as he became the first batsmen to score 200 runs in one day international.
200 runs in 147 balls which included 25 fours and 3 sixes
